This role provides Manufacturing Engineering (ME) support and basic troubleshooting for current operations in an industrial setting. Responsibilities include researching and executing safety and ergonomic improvements, driving continuous improvements in delivery, uptime, cost, and efficiency, supporting new product implementation, and leading the analysis and implementation of new manufacturing processes aligned with the Smart Connect Factory strategy. Experience with robotics/robotic programming and computer programming languages like Python is a plus.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide Assembly ME support and basic troubleshooting for current operations.
  2. Research, initiate, and execute safety and ergonomic improvement activities and projects
  3. Act as a departmental Manufacturing Engineer (ME) in driving improvements to support our Distinctive Product Quality initiatives, drive continuous improvements in delivery, uptime, cost and efficiency with Natural Work Group engagement.
  4. Support implementation of new products and current product Continuous Improvement running design changes
  5. Lead the analysis, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology aligned to the Smart Connect Factory strategy

  • Experience in a Manufacturing position supporting a workforce (academic/internship experience acceptable)

Nice to have

  • Experience with John Deere Specific manufacturing software JDAAT (John Deere Assembly Assist Tool), MPP (Manufacturing Process Planner) and SMART Test
  • Experience implementing change in a production environment through negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Experience with work instruction software, SAP functions, Windchill and other software tools
  • Experience with computer programming languages such as Python
  • Experience with standard data application, time study, line balance, cost/pay structure
  • Experience with data analysis software such as Minitab
  • Experience with robotics/robotic programming
  • Experience in a Manufacturing position supporting a workforce (academic/internship experience acceptable)
  • Experience developing and deploying operator work instructions (academic/internship experience acceptable)
  • Experience with process development, tooling design, fixturing and workstation layout (academic/internship experience acceptable)
  • Experience with Bill of Materials structure, build papers and ECN process execution (academic/internship experience acceptable)
