Operations Learning Manager

This role focuses on developing and coordinating a local learning plan for manufacturing operations, supporting skills development, apprenticeships, and future workforce needs. It involves identifying training needs, designing and delivering training programs, and reviewing their effectiveness within an operational environment. The role is primarily about operational learning and development, not AI/ML model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the development and ongoing ownership of a structured learning plan for the Desford and Stockton sites, ensuring it supports both current operational performance and future skills needs.
  2. Putting practical processes in place to identify current and future training needs across the shopfloor, leadership, and professional roles.
  3. Designing training programmes that support safe, effective day‑to‑day operations and align with site and business priorities.
  4. Working directly with managers and teams to agree training approaches, address skills gaps, and support performance improvement.
  5. Delivering training and hands‑on coaching and coordinating delivery through trainers, vendors, and learning technologies in a live operational environment.
