Operations & Logistics Manager, Merchant Growth

This role focuses on growing Uber Eats' consumer base and engagement through merchant partnerships and advertising strategies. The manager will lead SMB ads strategy, own ANR and cross-sell targets, and drive growth across the merchant lifecycle. They will also build commercial playbooks and support campaign analysis for offer programs. The ideal candidate has experience in technology startup, consulting, or business development, strong data-driven problem-solving skills, and fluency in English and Japanese.

What you'd actually do

  1. Leads the SMB ads strategy, contributing in Japan to over 40% of total Ads revenue - including adoption targets, go-to-market approach, and campaign optimisation
  2. Owns SMB ANR and cross-sell targets, with full accountability for performance tracking, gap diagnosis, and corrective action
  3. Drives ANR growth through the full SMB merchant lifecycle — Acquisition, Early Lifecycle (ELC), Upsell, and Cross-Sell — translating campaign data into continuous optimisation
  4. Builds and aligns the commercial playbook (including merchant-facing pitch and internal sales enablement materials) across Sales and BPO, to scale SMB ads and offer adoption
  5. Support with Execution and Campaign analysis on our ISP/Offer program

Skills

Required

  • 3 to 4+ years of demonstrated work experience in technology startup, consulting, strategy, business development, growth, or a variety of other specialty roles
  • Business acumen combined with strong understanding of the Japanese consumer market
  • Strong problem solving skills rooted in data-driven insights that guide sound decision making
  • Good communication skills that will allow you to have strategic discussions with our partners and build a foundation of trust and growth
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management capabilities
  • English & Japanese fluency

Nice to have

  • Experience with large scale operations, driving change amongst a large number of businesses simultaneously quickly and effectively
  • Sales experience in the restaurant industry
  • Proficiency with SQL, or (related) programming languages
