AWS Professional Services seeks an Operations Research and AI Consultant to help major global companies optimize processes using Operations Research and Generative AI. The role involves understanding customer challenges, building and deploying OR and GenAI solutions, and collaborating with other technical roles to bring solutions to production.

What you'd actually do

  1. Accurately understand the customer's business challenges and needs, structure the problems, and organise them as business requirements.
  2. Extract the IT requirements necessary to realise the business requirements and select candidate optimisation algorithms. In addition, you will work with specialist roles in related technical fields to build and verify OR solutions, as well as help develop an architecture that combines the necessary AWS services for achieving the customer's goals.
  3. Assist our customer on developing OR and GenAI projects from start to finish, providing technical sales support, conducting exploratory data analysis, building and validating OR and/or GenAI solutions, deploying validated solutions on their supporting infrastructure, and providing training to our customers.
  4. Collaborate with ML Engineers, Cloud Architect and Application Developer to build a production ready OR or GenAI solution
  5. To support the above, you will work with a wide range of IT tools, including AWS services (e.g. Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Sagemaker, Amazon AgentCore, Amazon EKS), Git and Docker, as well as with a range on OR and GenAI framework such as Strands-Agents, pytorch, OR-Tools, etc

Skills

Required

  • AWS or cloud technologies
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in fields such as operations research, applied mathematics, mathematical optimisation, industrial engineering, or a related quantitative discipline
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as an operations research scientist or optimisation specialist
  • experience building mathematical optimisation models (e.g. linear programming, integer programming, constraint programming)
  • leveraging AI/GenAI for solution development

Nice to have

  • Master's degree or above in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Mathematical Optimisation, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or related fields
  • Deep technical skills and business savvy
  • able to collaborate with a wide range of clients
