Operations Technology (ot) Support Operator

This role is for an Operations Technology (OT) Support Operator responsible for hardware deployment, imaging, and hands-on support for factory hardware in a defense technology company. It involves building machines, flashing images, deploying equipment, and providing basic technical support. This is an entry-to-associate level role.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build and configure OT hardware including industrial PCs, control stations, and factory equipment.
  2. Flash operating system images and software packages onto devices following standard procedures.
  3. Test hardware to ensure proper functionality before deployment.
  4. Deploy configured hardware to factory locations across campus sites.

Skills

Required

  • Comfortable building and assembling computer hardware.
  • Familiarity with operating system installation and imaging processes.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and procedures.
  • Basic computer skills including use of ticketing systems and documentation tools.
  • Detail-oriented with focus on following procedures accurately.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage tasks.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills for working with team members.
  • Comfortable working in factory/industrial environments.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work non-standard hours for deployments.
  • Physical ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs) and perform hands-on work.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice to have

  • Associate's degree or technical certification is a plus but not required.
  • CompTIA A+ or similar certifications are a plus but not required.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.

What the JD emphasized

  • 1-3 years of experience in IT support, hardware deployment, desktop support, or related technical role.
