P583-rc Q/r Machinist C13

Boeing Boeing · Aerospace · Huntington Beach, CA

This role involves operating and setting up lathes and milling machines using manual and numerically controlled methods. Responsibilities include interpreting engineering data, performing setups, selecting and adjusting cutting tools, setting feeds and speeds, and machining parts to exacting tolerances. The role also involves inspecting work, preparing rejection documents, and performing precision measurements to ensure GD&T requirements are met. Experience with specific machine controls like Fanuc and Siemens is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lay out, set up, and operate lathes and milling machines utilizing manual MDI controllers, 3RD party numerically controlled programs or conventional methods using various engineering data sources ie CATIA, UG¬_NX, Reference Engineering Data Automated Retrieval System (REDARS), and Model Base Definition (MBD).
  2. Within the quick response center, work from blue prints, fabrication outlines, sketches, and manufacturing work instructions.
  3. Duties include making complete setups of milling machines by positioning and locating work piece.
  4. Select, mount, align, and adjust cutting tools.
  5. Set feeds, speeds, and depth of cuts.
