Packaging Engineer

This role focuses on managing and optimizing the flow and availability of returnable containers within a supply chain, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards. Responsibilities include monitoring container inventory, coordinating with stakeholders, analyzing buffer levels, identifying supply risks, defining packaging methods for new processes, and improving system performance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Monitor the flow and availability of returnable containers (SKIDS/racks) for finished goods and purchased components, ensuring continuous supply between customer, suppliers, and plant.
  2. Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure efficient recovery, return, and rotation of containers.
  3. Analyze and define optimal buffer/inventory levels of returnable containers based on demand, lead times, and operational variability.
  4. Identify supply risks and execute preventive actions (expedites, flow adjustments, rack redistribution).
  5. Define and standardize packaging methods for first-operation processes, ensuring compatibility with production and logistics processes.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
