This role is for a Paint Sprayer in the manufacturing operations of Caterpillar, focusing on quality control and application of paint systems to heavy machinery. It involves surface preparation, paint application, quality inspection, and adherence to safety and lean manufacturing protocols.

What you'd actually do

  1. Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking, as necessary.
  2. Mix, apply 2K paint systems according to manufacturer specifications using and maintain equipment.
  3. Apply primers and topcoats to achieve a smooth and durable finish.
  4. Inspect finished products for quality and make any necessary touch-ups or corrections.
  5. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Skills

Required

  • Familiarity with functionality of spray systems.
  • Knowledge of different paint types.
  • Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and Control Of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) systems.
  • Ability to change equipment e.g., tips and filters.
  • The ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions/procedures.
  • Ability to work well with a team environment and possess a flexible attitude.
  • You will possess effective communication skills to communicate with various levels of the organisation.
  • Willing to undertake training/learning as required.
  • Must be prepared to work a multi-shift pattern.
