State Farm is seeking a Paralegal to support attorneys in their Glendale, California Claim Litigation office. The role involves assisting with discovery, trial preparation, drafting motions and pleadings, and managing case files. The position requires 2+ years of civil litigation experience and familiarity with California court rules and procedures. This is a hybrid role with a salary range of $62,062.00 - $92,000.00.

What you'd actually do

  1. Assist attorneys in discovery and pre-trial matters under attorney supervision
  2. Assist attorneys in handling assigned case files and delivering other legal services under attorney supervision
  3. Prepare cases for court appearances, depositions, and trial including contacting experts and clients
  4. Involvement with medical record collection, medical record and billing summaries, and medical chronologies
  5. Draft motions and pleadings

What the JD emphasized

  • 2+ years of recent civil litigation experience, preferably insurance defense or personal injury
  • Prior paralegal experience, litigation
  • Background in drafting discovery responses, trial preparation, drafting motions/pleadings
  • Familiarity with California court rules and procedures
  • Experience reviewing medical records, preparing medical chronologies, and subpoenaing medical records is preferred
