Partner Solutions Engineer, Machine Learning and Digitization Operations

This role focuses on building and managing tools and facilities for digitizing content at scale, primarily for YouTube, Google Books, and Arts & Culture. The goal is to enhance user access and advance machine learning by processing offline information. Responsibilities include developing internal tools, operational databases, and optimizing workflows, while collaborating with global engineering and operations teams to scale these digitization projects.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build, test and launch internal tools to power digitization services.
  2. Maintain existing tools, hardware and collaborate with regional technician teams.
  3. Develop operational databases, reports and support tools.
  4. Optimize workflows by identifying inefficiencies and automation opportunities.
  5. Partner with global engineers, developers and Operations teams to scale projects beyond book scanning.

Skills

Required

  • coding with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python)
  • client-side web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or HTTP)
  • troubleshooting technical issues for internal/external partners or customers
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to have

  • working with hardware systems in a laboratory or industrial setting (e.g., robotics, motor controllers, etc.)
  • photography or imaging equipment
