The Parts Inventory Analyst role at Caterpillar focuses on managing and analyzing parts inventory data. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining data tables and reports using tools like Microsoft Power Platform and SAS, fulfilling ad hoc report requests, and contributing to moderately complex projects. What you'd actually do

  1. Provide technical support for reporting used by both SPM and Legacy Claims and Returns teams
  2. Fulfil new report requests in a timely manner, maintaining responsibility for requirement gathering, data source identification, code/query development, and publication in Power BI or through SAS
  3. Identify needs in the Claims and Returns space and develop innovative data sets and/or reports that can be used to resolve problems and issues
  4. Utilize professional project management, 6Sigma, and lean techniques to manage reporting, checklists, presentations, and project timing, as well as delegate appropriately.
  5. Work with the individual team members from multiple functional disciplines (SPM, Legacy, Policy, Warehouse Operations, Implementation teams etc.) and multiple regions of the world.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1 year of experience with Claims and Returns
  • Demonstrated reporting and technical experience
  • Experience creating and maintaining reports utilizing database/cloud platform connections (SAS, DB2, Snowflake, Oracle, etc.)
  • Familiarity with SAP Platform and data tables
  • Extensive experience developing in Microsoft Power Platform and SAS Enterprise Guide
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
