This role involves operating and maintaining complex tactical communication systems, including performing preflight tests, configuring payloads, maintenance, troubleshooting hardware/software, and operating data links during missions. It requires extensive travel to overseas duty locations and a Secret security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support flight line by performing preflight system tests and configuring payloads
  2. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance
  3. Troubleshoot Hardware/Software issues
  4. Perform system and computer maintenance
  5. Operate and control data links during operational missions

Skills

Required

  • Associate’s in Science Degree with 4 years’ experience or Bachelor’s in Science Degree with 2 year’s experience
  • Experience with operating Military radios or communications systems and general radio knowledge
  • Experience handling COMSEC materials, following security guidance/procedures, and operating the Simple Key Loader (SKL)
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 75% and multi-month overseas deployments
  • Must pass a physical health assessment and meet the minimal standards of fitness in alignment with AFCENT requirements
  • US Citizenship and current/active Secret security clearance required

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Link-16, SADL, SAT-J and/or JREAP
  • Experience with operating; ARC-210, SADL, MIDS JTRS
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II or greater (CCNA Security, Security+ CE, Linux +)
  • Experience with military aircraft operations
  • Working knowledge of operation, integration, configuration, and maintenance of military communications systems, networks, radios, and general RF knowledge
  • Experience with commercial and military interfaces to include RS-232, RS-485, and MIL-STD-1553
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and the ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
