Payments Analyst

Stripe is seeking a Payments Analyst to support critical payment flows and a platform processing billions of dollars. The role involves maintaining financial partner integrations, cash reconciliation, monitoring payment performance, and triaging/investigating performance degradations. The analyst will partner with finance and infrastructure engineering teams, report on money movement transactions, and respond to inquiries from product support and technical account management teams. Responsibilities include handling reconciliation requests, monitoring performance, responding to inquiries, interfacing with financial partners, validating financial data accuracy, and identifying/automating process efficiencies. Minimum requirements include 2+ years in a technical role with SQL experience, understanding of payment flows and financial systems, strong analytical skills, experience with complex workflows, handling large datasets, documenting SOPs, operating independently in a fast-paced environment, identifying and triaging technical issues, and proactive problem resolution. Preferred qualifications include payments expertise and experience in a high-growth tech company.

What you'd actually do

  1. Handle reconciliation / payments related requests to ensure accurate ledgering of funds and address support inquiries from banking partners.
  2. Monitor performance for users, responding to alerts of degradation, triaging and investigating the cause, and communicating your findings to the account team, banking partners, and card networks.
  3. Respond to performance inquiries from technical account managers, product support teams, and other internal stripe teams.
  4. Interface with Stripe’s financial partners across the world to communicate operational breakages and help drive resolutions.
  5. Provide fast, accurate responses to complex support inquiries from partners.
