This role is for a Payroll Lead at Braze, a customer engagement platform company. The role focuses on managing the end-to-end international payroll function, ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and timely processing for over 300 employees across multiple global offices. Responsibilities include managing foreign payroll operations, leading geographic expansion of payroll processing, supporting system testing and implementations, and handling payroll due diligence for acquisitions. The role also involves developing partnerships with the Global People team for process improvements, maintaining policies and procedures, managing journal entries, resolving tax issues with agencies and providers, and acting as an escalation point for complex payroll queries. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of payroll experience in the APAC region, thorough knowledge of APAC payroll taxes and regulations, experience with Workday and other foreign payroll platforms, and strong technical aptitude with excellent attention to detail.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead end-to-end international payroll function for 300+ employees and growing
  2. Manage foreign payroll operations for the Singapore, Australia, South Korea, Indonesia and Dubai offices
  3. Lead the geographic expansion of payroll processing into new countries as the company rapidly expands its global footprint, support payroll system testing, and implementations.
  4. Lead the payroll due diligence and integration for any potential acquisitions
  5. Develop a close working partnership with the Global People team to implement process improvements and optimize payroll processes including enhancements of existing payroll systems.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of payroll experience in APAC region
  • Ability to provide excellent payroll service
  • Thorough knowledge of APAC payroll taxes and regulations
  • Experience with Workday and other Foreign Payroll Platforms (ADP Celergo)
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude, high level of accuracy, organization, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently
  • Ability to meet hard deadlines and work under pressure
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Solid experience setting-up payroll in foreign countries
  • General understanding of Sarbanes Oxley
