This role is for a Payroll Manager at Gong, a company that uses AI to transform revenue teams. The manager will oversee payroll operations for over 550 employees in Israel, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Responsibilities include end-to-end payroll processing, reporting, reconciliations, process improvements, and handling complex payroll scenarios like equity compensation and multi-currency considerations. The role requires strong experience in Israeli payroll, labor laws, tax regulations, and proficiency with payroll systems like Hilan and NetSuite.

What you'd actually do

  1. Leading end-to-end payroll operations for 550+ employees in Israel, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with Israeli labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
  2. Owning payroll reporting, reconciliations, month-end close activities, payroll-related accounting processes, and maintaining payroll data integrity across the employee lifecycle.
  3. Driving continuous improvements to payroll processes, systems, and controls while partnering with HR, Finance, Legal, Equity, and external payroll consultants to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  4. Identifying payroll risks, proactively resolving discrepancies, and implementing scalable solutions that improve payroll accuracy, efficiency, and operational excellence.
  5. Supporting complex payroll scenarios, including equity compensation, pension plans, reserve-duty pay, global payroll processes, multi-currency payroll considerations, and cross-border tax implications.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of payroll management experience
  • Deep expertise in Israeli payroll, labor laws, tax regulations, National Insurance, reserve-duty payments, pension plans, and equity compensation
  • Hands-on experience with Hilan (including Ofek and Hilnet)
  • Experience retrieving historical payroll data from Michpal
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP
  • Experience with payroll journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, month-end close processes
  • Experience building payroll journal entries directly from payroll reports
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and payroll analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to take ownership in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent in Hebrew
  • Fluent in English

Nice to have

  • Implementation experience with Hilnet is a strong advantage
  • preferably in a global high-tech environment supporting 300–600 employees
