Payroll Tax Analyst

The Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for ensuring the Company’s ongoing compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. This individual is responsible for analyzing, researching, and resolving issues and addressing related tax inquiries. This individual will specialize in payroll regulatory compliance across all states in which employees reside.

What you'd actually do

  1. Register companies in new tax jurisdictions for state/local/unemployment. Identify registration requirements and coordinate as needed.
  2. Set up new tax jurisdictions in Workday and Smart Compliance. Maintain rates for unemployment in both systems.
  3. Audit new and existing employees’ tax set up for accuracy.
  4. Prepare and submit Federal and State Power of Attorney (POA) as needed to tax vendors.
  5. Responsible for preparing and submitting data to agency or ADP for tax amendment filings as needed.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 3 years related experience in tax
  • 3 years related experience in payroll processes
  • ADP Smart Compliance
  • Workday
  • UKG
  • Understanding of federal and state regulations related to salaries, wages, taxes, benefits, and other payroll related matters
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Advanced Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Dependable and punctual

Nice to have

  • FPC or CPP certification
  • Payroll software implementation experience
  • Workday HR/payroll integration and mass data change uploads (EIB)
