This role is for a People Operations Specialist at Okta, focusing on HR technology, compliance, and employee experience. What you'd actually do

  1. Own the integrity of employee data throughout the entire lifecycle within Workday, ensuring absolute accuracy.
  2. Act as the primary gatekeeper for global compliance by managing and executing robust background verification (BGC) processes.
  3. Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees, HRBPs, and external vendors to streamline workflows.
  4. Execute complex global data changes (transfers, promotions, comp updates, terminations) and manage mass uploads using Workday EIBs.
  5. Partner with external vendors to trigger, track, and review comprehensive background checks. Safely escalate and resolve discrepancies.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of core experience in People Operations/HR Ops with deep employee lifecycle exposure.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Workday Core HCM (including EIB execution) and ServiceNow (SNOW).
  • Proven track record of managing high-volume, global background verification processes and vendor relations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data privacy capabilities (GDPR/CCPA awareness is a huge plus).
  • Supporting PST shift and collaborating closely with US counterparts.
