Verkada is seeking a People Partner (HR Business Partner) to join their growing People team in New York City. This role will provide HR support to GTM teams, focusing on developing and executing people strategies to enhance performance, growth, and employee engagement. Responsibilities include advising on employee relations, building career development programs, and driving impactful people initiatives in a fast-scaling environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Act as a trusted advisor to executives and employees, aligning people strategies with business objectives.
  2. Problem-solve and implement strategic programs to help your department scale and meet its business goals -- such as leadership enablement and coaching, analyzing compensation levels, building career paths, professional development, retention strategy, and performance management.
  3. Analyze data across various sources to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  4. Coach managers to enhance their leadership capabilities, fostering high-performing and engaged teams.
  5. Provide guidance on complex employee relations matters, investigations, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally sound resolutions.

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years experience -- HR/People Business Partner experience or adjacent role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and align People initiatives with business objectives, translating strategy into plans for execution.
  • Data-driven decision maker & strong problem solver who can find root causes of issues and gain leadership support to address them.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.

Nice to have

  • MBA or Master's degree is a plus.
