Skydio is seeking a PhD Autonomy Engineer Intern to architect and implement computer vision algorithms for autonomous drones. The role involves research, prototyping, and assessing new approaches to enhance autonomous capabilities, with a focus on shipping these advancements into real products.

What you'd actually do

  1. architect and implement the algorithms that run on every drone powered by Skydio
  2. paired up with one or more members of our core software development team, assuming direct ownership of a project that meaningfully advances the capabilities of our team and products
  3. Research, prototype, and generally assess the feasibility of new approaches
  4. Imagine and then implement new features that unlock magic for our users
  5. Characterize and quantify the performance of core components of the software and hardware stack
