Amazon Amazon · Big Tech · Cupertino, CA · Machine Learning Science

The role is for a Physical Design Verification Manager responsible for leading a team that owns the end-to-end physical verification strategy for AWS's custom SoCs, which are used in machine learning servers. This includes defining verification roadmaps, standardizing methodologies, driving automation, and mentoring engineers. The role also involves piloting next-gen verification technologies, including AI-driven DRC and parallel LVS.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own end‑to‑end physical verification strategy for AWS’s most complex SoCs (≥100M gates), from floorplan to tape‑out
  2. Define verification closure roadmap, resource allocation, and risk‑mitigation plans for concurrent projects
  3. Standardize industry‑leading verification methodologies (Calibre, IC Validator, PVS) across the organization
  4. Drive automation of runsets, reporting, and debug flows using Python/Perl scripts; reduce manual effort by ≥40%
  5. Lead a team of 3–5 Sr. PDV Engineers, setting goals, conducting quarterly reviews, and career‑pathing
