This role is for a Physician Program Director in the MedTech Sales division at Johnson & Johnson, focusing on establishing and managing formal Impella programs through relationships with account stakeholders and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). The role involves engaging KOLs, developing strategic relationships, and acting as a liaison between hospitals and internal company resources. It also includes collaborating with hospitals on program efficiencies, best practice implementation, and workflow improvements to ensure program sustainability. The PPD will work to identify program gaps, align internal resources, and support the implementation of best practices across hospital systems. The role requires understanding hospital market dynamics, presenting complex health economic information, advocating for heart recovery programs, and developing new KOLs. It also involves serving as a corporate liaison and collaborating cross-functionally with internal partners. The position requires extensive travel and a strong understanding of US healthcare policy and payment systems.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive KOL engagement strategy aligned with brand and therapeutic area objectives.
  2. Develop sustainable relationships with designated accounts, health systems, key opinion leaders and stakeholders, to impact formalization of Impella programs and optimize outcomes.
  3. Understand hospital market dynamics, uncover gaps in operational efficiency and patient care, and deploy appropriate tools that will ultimately allow us to reach more patients
  4. Present complex health economic information to influential and diverse groups in a way that is engaging, credible, and easily understood.
  5. Advocate on behalf of heart recovery programs to health system administration & engage with hospital administrators to gain alignment on projects.

Skills

Required

  • BA/BS required
  • 4 or more successful years of sales experience within Abiomed OR >7 years of related industry sales experience and proven success
  • Prior KOL management experience or existing relationships in geographic area
  • Prior experience working collaboratively with C-Suite hospital administrators
  • Prior experience partnering with leaders of IDNs or systems of care
  • Must be able to travel overnight extensively (70% depending on geography)
  • Strong understanding of US health care policy and payment systems, including hospital and physician reimbursement.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, experienced developing relationships at all organizational levels to influence business objectives.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with intricate planning and strong tactical execution.
  • Demonstrates responsiveness and a sense of urgency
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to project manage effectively and drive initiatives to completion
