State Farm is seeking a PIP Attorney to handle litigation and other legal assignments in Summit, New Jersey. The role involves managing a high-volume caseload of PIP matters from inception through discovery, motion practice, and trial. The attorney will work in a hybrid capacity, requiring time in the office and virtually. Previous experience handling PIP cases and knowledge of Forthright arbitration rules are required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Handles a high-volume caseload of PIP matters in both Forthright Arbitration Forum and Superior Court
  2. Handles a caseload from inception through discovery, motion practice, and trial in a fast-paced environment committed to quality of work
  3. Handle litigation and other legal assignments in accordance with guidelines established by the Law Department

Skills

Required

  • J.D. from an A.B.A. Accredited Law School with excellent academic credentials
  • Must have an active law license to practice in the state of New Jersey and a member in good standing with the State Bar of New Jersey.
  • Knowledge of Forthright arbitration rules is required
  • Knowledge of local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law commensurate with level of experience
  • Experience directing support staff on clerical and administrative matters related to arbitration and lawsuit handling
  • Ability to work efficiently with cases in electronic form
  • Working knowledge of a Case Management system
  • Working Knowledge of a Document Storage system

Nice to have

  • 3+ years experience handling PIP cases from inception to conclusion preferred
  • Experience with other defense litigation is helpful, but not required
