Planning Lead

Meta Meta · Big Tech · Reston, VA +1

This role is for a Planning Lead in Meta's design, engineering, and construction organization. The primary focus is on managing the early phases of construction projects, from due diligence through handoff to preconstruction teams. Responsibilities include developing high-level schedules, managing financial commitments and risks, contributing to master plan analysis, and coordinating internal and external teams. The role also involves influencing engineering strategy through constructability reviews and providing feedback on cost and schedule. While the core function is construction project management, the role requires demonstrated experience integrating AI tools to optimize workflows, including prompt engineering and agent orchestration, and adhering to ethical AI practices.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build high level “Path to Break Ground Schedules”, factoring the location, the site conditions, time of the year, labor availability, type of design implemented, etc.
  2. Provide a clean transition and embedment of new region and new product development from DEC Planning to DEC Execution Teams (Preconstruction, Delivery, Data Center Operations)
  3. Set the targets for each project (Cost and schedule) and communicate to the stakeholders.
  4. Coordinate multiple internal XFN teams (energy, site selection, product design, etc) and external teams (GCs, Integrators, TCs).
  5. Define the deliverables needed and the quality expected.
