Plant Vehicle Team Supervisor - Body Interior - Michigan Assembly Plant

This role supervises a team of engineers responsible for meeting interior quality objectives for current production vehicles at an assembly plant. The supervisor will lead problem-solving, containment, and resolution of quality issues, working with cross-functional teams and reporting on warranty issues and improvements.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own functional warranty quality objectives for the base function (R/1000, time to contain, time to resolve)
  2. Respond to plant/supplier issues before they leave assembly plants. Evaluate chronic and new warranty issues to push for cut off and resolution ASAP
  3. Co-chair Variability Reduction Team (VRT) meetings and report-out at the plant
  4. Lead problem-solving, containment, and resolution of Interior 0-3 MIS warranty
  5. Lead Balanced Single Agenda Quality (BSAQ) and problem resolution for IRIS Warranty communication and coordination with VFG/Plant/Others, author projects, manage implementation, calculate impact, and handle warranty glidepath forecasting

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in PD, manufacturing, and/or quality roles
  • Proficient in structured problem-solving techniques (8D, 3L5Y, DMAIC, Six Sigma, etc)
  • Knowledge of GSAR, IRIS, SIMPSN, and other quality tools
  • Highly motivated and capable of leading cross-functional resolution of quality issues
  • Capable of succinctly communicating issues/resolution to all levels of leadership
  • Candidates must be able to work 2nd Shift which can be 7am - 4:30pm
  • Candidates must be able to work weekends as needed and be on call as needed

Nice to have

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in PD, manufacturing, and/or quality roles
  • Six Sigma greenbelt or blackbelt certified
