Platform Technical Leader, Statera

Google Google · Big Tech · Cambridge, MA +1

This role is for a Platform Technical Leader focused on load balancing infrastructure for AI workloads, connecting AI models and agents. The responsibilities include driving data plane performance, optimizing scalability, advocating for GKE, expanding network protocols (IPv6, HTTP/3), and strengthening DoS protection. The role requires significant experience in C++, software development, large-scale infrastructure, and distributed systems, with a focus on technical leadership.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead initiatives to seamlessly connect AI workloads to models and agents, ensuring the load balancing infrastructure is perfectly optimized for next-generation computing demands.
  2. Drive critical data plane performance improvements and increase system utilization to enhance overall scalability, while optimizing the hardware footprint to achieve profitability across all product variants.
  3. Advocate GKE as a first-class deployment strategy to solve scalability challenges, reduce friction for users (e.g., proxy-only subnets, ILB as next hop), and lead the service-centric cross-cloud networking initiatives.
  4. Expand and modernize network protocol capabilities by delivering a comprehensive IPv6 implementation alongside the support for HTTP/3, UDP, and HTTP/1.0.
  5. Strengthen the platform's defensive posture by improving Denial of Service (DoS) protection and ensuring all load balancers meet strict enterprise requirements.
