AMD is hiring a PMTS Test Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The role involves defining module interfaces, validating platforms, developing and executing test plans for product functionality and specifications, debugging issues, and evaluating test methodologies. The engineer will utilize knowledge of electronic theory, computers, and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as design techniques, tools, and principles. The position requires experience in hardware and software verification, SOC/system architecture, functional verification of microprocessors, product development cycles, EDA tools, Unix/Linux environments, Python, Powershell, graphics, CUDA, CPU and GPU architecture, server systems, virtualization, software debugging, Git, data structures, and high-speed buses.

What you'd actually do

  1. Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory.
  2. Define module interfaces/formats for simulation.
  3. Serve as a key technical contributor to both the Electrical and Platform level validation of platforms.
  4. Develop and execute test plans which will verify product functionality, adherence to electrical specifications and production requirements; including SW stack and use case testing.
  5. Debug, identify root cause and resolve issues.
