Policy Design Manager, Age-appropriate Design

This role focuses on designing and implementing policies for AI products, specifically concerning age-appropriate content, child safety, and adult content. The manager will act as a subject matter expert, draft policies, design evaluation frameworks, review flagged content, and collaborate with product, engineering, and legal teams to ensure safe and responsible AI usage. While the role works with AI products and influences their development, its core function is policy and product management rather than direct AI/ML model building or research.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as an internal subject matter expert, leveraging deep expertise in child safety, adult content, youth development, and age-appropriate design to:
  2. Draft new policies that help govern the responsible use of our models for emerging capabilities and use cases
  3. Design evaluation frameworks for testing model performance in areas of expertise
  4. Conduct regular reviews and testing of existing policies to identify and address gaps and ambiguities
  5. Review flagged content to drive enforcement and policy improvements
