JPMorgan Wealth Management is seeking a Portfolio & Performance Analyst - Associate to join their Portfolio Analysis Group. The role involves delivering portfolio and performance analytics and reporting, focusing on composite performance reporting, rate-of-return calculations, return attribution, risk analytics, competitive analysis, and account-level analysis. The analyst will support internal clients, including portfolio managers and advisors, by helping them understand performance drivers and measuring the effectiveness of products and strategies. Responsibilities include owning composite performance processes, liaising with business partners and tech teams, creating new analytical outputs, responding to inquiries, validating performance processes, and contributing to strategic technology projects like the Connect Wealth platform.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own responsibilities for JPWM Account and Composite Workflow, creating best practices, optimizing processes, examining current constructions with rigor, etc.
  2. Liaise with key business partners to ensure appropriate account/strategy performance and technology development; Collaborate with Tech & India PAG team in the production of accurate and timely performance measurement figures for the JPMWM line of business
  3. Create opportunities for new high value-added outputs in the portfolio analytics, risk statistics and strategy vs benchmark analytics arenas
  4. Respond in a timely fashion to inquiries from front-office financial advisors regarding performance reports, customized calculations and portfolio analytics; Serve as a subject matter expert (Business-As-Usual)
  5. Validate and own the end-to-end composite performance process; support ad hoc inquiries for new composite creation

Skills

Required

  • 2+ years of relevant experience including project and performance experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Computer Science (or similar discipline)
  • Solid analytical ability to research and analyze complex data sets
  • Strong quantitative skills, comfortable with formulas, performance measurement methodology and risk measures
  • Interact and communicate effectively – written and verbal – throughout all organizational levels and roles while working tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) and composite practices
  • Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement / Chartered Financial Analyst (CIPM/CFA) or progress toward designation
  • Some working knowledge of securities operations, trade processing, mainframe accounting systems and performance system architecture
  • Understanding of the various businesses/products within the wealth management space
  • Passion for the investments business and financial markets
  • Self-starter who is analytical and creative in their thinking; ability to quickly analyze information and creatively reach solutions and execute their implementation
  • Ability to communicate complex financial and mathematical concepts effectively to senior management, technology partners, risk & controls, and other stakeholders
