Post Processor and Machine Simulation Specialist

This role focuses on developing and configuring CNC post-processors and digital twin/machine simulation kits for Autodesk's CAM software. It involves programming, debugging, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration between software and CNC machines. While interest in manufacturing and CNC is required, and training will be provided, the core of the role is not AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop, customize, and maintain CNC post-processors for Autodesk CAM solutions
  2. Configure and maintain digital twin and machine simulation kits for Autodesk CAM solutions
  3. Apply knowledge of CAM software and CNC machining to provide technical guidance to internal teams and external partners
  4. Train and support Autodesk channel partners on CAM software, post-processing, and machine simulation workflows

Skills

Required

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, C++, or similar
  • Interest in working with CNC machines and manufacturing technologies
  • Ability to learn and apply industry best practices in CNC machining and manufacturing workflows

Nice to have

  • Experience with CNC machine operations, including 3-axis and multi-axis machining
  • Familiarity with CAM software, CNC post-processing, or manufacturing workflows
  • Experience with digital twin or machine simulation software (e.g., Siemens NX, Vericut, or similar)
  • Background in software development for engineering or manufacturing applications
  • Exposure to advanced CNC machining processes, including TurnMill and 5-axis machining
  • 3–6 years of experience in CNC post-processing and CAM software configuration
  • Understanding of G-code and M-code for multi-axis and TurnMill machines
