As a Hardware Electrical Engineer at Meta, you will design, develop, and integrate electrical systems for a wide range of applications, from next-generation consumer hardware to large-scale infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including mechanical, optical, firmware, software, and manufacturing experts—to deliver impactful solutions. Your work may span the full product or system lifecycle, from early prototyping and feasibility studies to large-scale deployment. Responsibilities
Lead the electrical development of highly complex systems or multiple subsystems, driving technical direction and architecture Define and drive electrical architecture, system integration, and technical strategy for major projects Lead cross-functional design reviews, resolve technical conflicts, and ensure alignment across engineering disciplines Drive innovation by identifying and implementing new technologies, processes, or methodologies to improve system/product performance, reliability, and features Oversee hardware bring-up, debugging, and support for manufacturing, assembly, deployment, or operational readiness at scale Evaluate and influence vendor and partner solutions, ensuring alignment with Meta’s requirements and long-term strategy Mentor and coach engineers at all levels Operate autonomously, set direction for teams, and manage priorities across multiple projects or workstreams Collaborate globally across distributed teams, influencing cross-organization initiatives and technical strategy Champion operational clarity, compliance, and specialized requirements, driving continuous improvement and best practices
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, and/or equivalent industry experience 8+ years of experience in electrical design, including system-level architecture and integration Demonstrated technical leadership in at least one electrical engineering domain (e.g., power, display, sensors, infrastructure, high-speed interfaces, analog/mixed-signal) Documented experience delivering products or systems from concept through prototyping, validation, and mass production or large-scale deployment Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and mentoring engineers Proficiency with industry-standard design, simulation, and analysis tools (e.g., Cadence, Altium, SPICE, MATLAB, or similar) Experience communicating technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders (e.g., design reviews, technical specifications, project updates) Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements) Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies Experience characterizing power consumption, battery run time, and battery charging/discharging curve at each NPI (New Product Introduction) build Experience collecting power measurements for weekly Software builds and drive power consumption optimization cross-functionally Demonstrated experiencing leading analog and power system architecture, charging architecture, chipset selection, and system integration for the battery powered product Experience creating power models to estimate battery day of use, power circuit design, simulation, validation, and characterization across multiple products, ensuring their successful delivery Proficiency in generating design documentation, perform schematic capture and power delivery network simulation both pre and post board layout, prototype bring-up, and design validation Effective at root-cause analysis and problem solving technical issues during new product development and support in-field escalations Experience working closely with CM/JDM (Contract Manufacturer / Joint Development Manufacturer) resources to leverage their engineers and maximize the focus of internal resources on adding value to and differentiating our product Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as industrial design, architecture, product design and supply chain Experience evaluating and enabling innovative solutions for cost, size, efficiency, safety, and reliability
