This role focuses on the design, implementation, and management of power and control systems for industrial process equipment in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include electrical drawing development, PLC programming, power distribution design, and project oversight from conception to completion.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design power and control systems for industrial process equipment used in the manufacturing of solid propulsion rocket motors, manufacturing facilities and manufacturing equipment.
  2. Develop control philosophies and P&ID’s.
  3. Design electrical control systems using Allen-Bradley PLC’s and Schneider SmartX controllers.
  4. Design low & medium voltage power distribution systems; specify power distribution equipment, transformers and switch gear; MCC’s, power distribution panels, high resistance grounds, UPS’s and back-up generators.
  5. Oversee installation and startup of newly designed systems with both internal craft & outside contractors.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
  • industrial facility or mechanical design experience
  • Industrial process equipment and facility design
  • Experience designing low- and medium-voltage power systems
  • Working knowledge of PLCs (including Allen-Bradley and Rockwell software)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Ability to work in field environments, including climbing ladders, working outdoors, and in confined or congested spaces
