Power Systems Engineer I supporting the design, development, and implementation of generator control switchgear systems, delivering automation and control solutions for complex power systems. Responsibilities include design, programming, testing, and commissioning of generator paralleling control systems, converting legacy PLC programs, and developing PLC/HMI applications.

What you'd actually do

  1. Identify retrofit opportunities, define project scope, and support proposal development with Dealer and Factory teams
  2. Execute design, programming, testing, and commissioning of low- and medium-voltage generator paralleling control systems
  3. Convert legacy PLC programs to current platforms and validate performance
  4. Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications using standard templates
  5. Partner with CAD designers to produce wiring and assembly drawings

Skills

Required

  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes
  • Working knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques
  • Working knowledge and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems
  • Working knowledge of a given technology and various application methods

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET) preferred
