Power Validation Engineer

System Power Validation Engineers are responsible for the debug and validation of NVIDIA's products, including GPU cards, servers, automotive, robotics, and consumer electronics, to ensure high-quality products. This involves managing power bring-up, collaborating with vendors, developing test platforms, and working with various design teams to resolve issues.

What you'd actually do

  1. Managing and accomplishing system power bring-up and debug processes.
  2. Collaborating with power vendors to resolve issues and improve our power solutions.
  3. Develop and simulate power solution test platforms.
  4. Supporting the improvement of future products and power solution roadmaps.
  5. Working closely with the design, validation, system design, system validation, silicon design, thermal/mechanical design teams, and vendors to root cause bugs and issues.

Skills

Required

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Power Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of related experience in power validation
  • Proven understanding of power electronics fundamentals, with experience in closed-loop control, innovative 48V topologies, multiphase regulators, high power density architecture, Power Distribution Network (PDN) impedance analysis, power devices, and power management
  • Deep technical knowledge of telemetry and protection management, design for debugging, security, safety and reliability, and failure analysis
  • Experience with power circuit design, magnetics, modeling, failure analysis, performance analysis, bring-up, debug, and verification
  • Proficiency in various programming and scripting languages, including C/C++ and JavaScript, as well as Linux
  • Proficiency with development and simulation tools, lab equipment setup, and fixing skills
  • Team-oriented demeanor, with a "can do" attitude and excitement for solving multi-disciplinary challenges in fast-paced, layered environments
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; organized, team-oriented, and effective in working with management, collaborators, peers, suppliers, and customers
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, problem-solving, cross-disciplinary, and program management skills
