Principal Associate, Commercial Accounting

Seeking a Principal Associate, Commercial Accounting with a focus on accounting, financial analysis, and process improvements for commercial equity investment and Unitranche financing products. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing accounting activities, analyzing new equity investments, serving as a subject matter expert for lending SPVs, responding to auditor requests, presenting findings to leadership, and contributing to corporate initiatives and process improvements.

What you'd actually do

  1. Prepare and review accounting-related activities, such as journal entries and reconciliations, analytics and support and prepare external Securities and Exchange Commission and regulatory reports, including documentation and presentation of results to management and senior leadership
  2. Analyze and account for new equity investments. Research accounting impacts for new business types and investments with new contractual requirements
  3. Serve as the main point of contact and subject matter expert for our lending special purpose vehicles (SPV), including working with the SPV 3rd party investors and accounting professionals
  4. Respond to requests from Finance and key business partners, associates throughout the Controllers group, Operation teams, and external and internal auditors
  5. Present results, findings, risks and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit, finance, or a combination
  • At least 2 years of experience with Google Office or Microsoft Office products, or a combination

Nice to have

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit, or finance, or a combination
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry
  • Experience accounting for investments under the Equity Method and/or Equity Security Accounting Guidance
