Principal Associate, Project Manager

Capital One Capital One · Banking · McLean, VA

This role is for a Principal Project Manager on the International Talent Expansion (ITE) team, focusing on workforce planning and strategic operations for global tech and product talent expansion. The individual will coordinate international hiring milestones, synthesize data from various departments, create executive-level presentations, and manage cross-functional alignment. While the company operates in the AI space, this specific role is not directly involved in AI/ML development or research, but rather in the strategic planning and project management of talent acquisition to support those efforts.

What you'd actually do

  1. Act as the project lead for international workforce expansion workstreams. You will track progress against global hiring milestones, identify potential risks to our footprint strategy, and ensure all workstream leads are aligned on our global scaling goals.
  2. Serve as the "custodian of the truth" for Tech and Product headcount. You will aggregate data from HR, Finance, and Recruiting to produce monthly and quarterly reports, ensuring that any discrepancies are resolved and that leadership has a clear view of our current and future talent state.
  3. Transform raw workforce data into compelling narratives. You will be responsible for designing and drafting high-visibility presentations for senior leadership, highlighting key trends, successes, and areas requiring executive intervention.
  4. Manage the "connective tissue" between HR, Finance, and Real Estate. You will lead the project meetings and communication loops necessary to ensure that our hiring plans are supported by sufficient recruiting capacity and office space.
  5. Look across various data sets to find the "so what." Rather than just reporting numbers, you will synthesize qualitative and quantitative feedback to provide leadership with a holistic view of organizational health and geographic distribution.
