Principal Business Consultant - Construction Technologist

This role is for a Principal Business Consultant in the construction industry, focusing on helping customers implement Autodesk's design, engineering, and construction solutions. The role involves developing digital and data strategies, assessing processes, and driving the implementation of solutions to achieve business results. While the role requires keeping up with technology trends and mentions an interest in AI, data strategy, and data management as preferred, AI/ML is not the core craft of this position.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work with Autodesk’s largest customers on innovative construction solutions related to document management, data management, field workflows, handover/ turnover and more
  2. Analysis, improvement and implementation of processes and workflows
  3. Lead consulting engagements with customers, including discovery process to understand business challenges and requirements and document the proposed value during those engagements
  4. Contribute to task estimation and scoping including scope clarification with customers
  5. Apply change management knowledge to the deployment of Autodesk solutions

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or architecture / engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in the construction industry, with a focus on the development and delivery of digital solutions
  • Experience of the following construction industry processes such as Document Management / Project Management / Quality Management / Safety Management / Handover / Scheduling / Cost Management
  • Excellent communication skills including experience conducting workshops, facilitating meetings, and delivering impactful presentations
  • Ability to drive decisions and closure on issues
  • Proven ability to work with diverse technical, sales, and project delivery teams including breaking down complex topics into a common language

Nice to have

  • Autodesk product expertise (Forma, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360)
  • Knowledge of competitor solutions in the construction industry
  • Advanced experience developing and implementing workflow processes between architects, designers, engineers, contractors, and owners
  • Experience using Autodesk products such as Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and InfraWorks
  • Experience driving change at the enterprise level
  • Familiarity with ISO 19650
  • An interest and experience in AI, data strategy, and data management
