Principal Chief Engineer role at RTX focused on leading cross-functional engineering teams through design, test, and verification phases for guidance and sensor technologies in defense products. Active Top Secret security clearance is mandatory.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead cross-functional engineering teams through design, test, and verification phases, including ground and flight testing, ensuring technical, cost, and schedule objectives are met.
  2. Influence SW/HW architecture, establish processes, and align program leadership, office of the chief engineer, and multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  3. Provide program leadership to IPTs and collaborative partners from Engineering, Operations, Mission Assurance, and Global Supply Chain.
  4. Mentor and guide team members.
  5. Apply extensive experience in task leadership, system-level integration, and verification.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • RF product and subassembly design, integration, and production support
  • Analog, digital, and power electronics design, integration, and production support
  • Deconvolving high level requirements into actionable design electronics and subsystem architectures
  • Experience in RF sub-systems, systems engineering, requirement development, requirement validation, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Design, RF Test Integration (including RF Test Solutions), and/or RF Supplier Management on an effector-based product

Nice to have

  • Advanced degrees in engineering, mathematics, physics, or related engineering degrees.

  • Able to network / influence outside of the AEGS Department with other design and production support organizations, program leadership, other engineering disciplines and Manufacturing organizations.

  • Proven experience in balancing engineering process discipline and innovation for rapid development and program success.
  • Experience working with missiles or similar systems.
