Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Contract Administrator/Sr. Principal Contract Administrator to join their Advanced Weapons Team. This role involves managing all aspects of contracts from business development through closeout, including proposal preparation, negotiation, and daily contract administration for various government programs. The position requires knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS), and the ability to obtain a secret clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work complex assignments independently and support Finance, Program Management, and various levels of Management
  2. Lead proposal preparation, contract negotiation and contract administration activities from proposal through closeout.
  3. Administer daily contract activities for a variety of product lines and contract types, including cost reimbursable and firm fixed price; such activities will include establishing payment terms, initiating, and monitoring invoicing, collections, and funding to support financial objectives.
  4. Enter and manage data in the Contract Management System, financial and delivery systems.
  5. Participate in customer meetings, performing and monitoring compliance to contract requirements and leading change management process.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelors degree with 5 Years relevant experience ; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, strong emphasis on Excel
  • Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS as well as experience with different contract types is required
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively research FAR/DFAR information.
  • Ability to understand regulatory changes and their impact on contracts/subcontracts.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance
  • Must be able to effectively work with the management of other organizations (program management, subcontracts, business management, finance, and supply chain management) as well as representatives of Government agencies
  • Must have a demonstrated understanding of and experience with FAR and DFARS
  • Must have a demonstrated experience with various contract types such as Time & Material, Cost Reimbursable , Firm Fixed Price, etc.
  • Must have capable & effective proposal development skills, excellent negotiation skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess excellent decision-making skills that support resolution of complex problems while minimizing risk to the Corporation
  • Advanced skills using MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
