This role is for a Principal Data Center Operator at Oracle, responsible for the independent management of one or more data centers. Key responsibilities include leading performance analyses, monitoring facility health, driving process improvements, resolving incidents, managing escalated technical issues, and overseeing new region builds and expansions. The role also involves directing component upgrades and infrastructure changes to optimize data center efficiency and stability, utilizing advanced automation and monitoring tools, and ensuring compliance with incident management protocols and root cause analysis.

What you'd actually do

  1. Independently responsibility for at least one and occasionally multiple Data Centers.
  2. Leads performance trend analyses related to capacity, temperature, availability, cleanliness, and other aspects. Identifies significant patterns, and suggests operational improvements.
  3. Proactively monitors facility health at all times (power, cooling, security) and develops and implements major enhancements.
  4. Leads the on-the-ground resources to resolve incidents and performs accurate communication on execution.
  5. Leads and oversees new region builds and expansion activities, both onsite and remotely.
