This role is for a Principal Database Administrator responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing mission-critical Oracle database environments. Key responsibilities include ensuring database availability, performance, security, and recoverability, with a focus on RMAN backup/recovery, Linux systems, and high-availability architectures like RAC and Data Guard, preferably in Exadata environments. The role involves day-to-day support, production troubleshooting, performance tuning, and working with SRE teams on full stack ownership.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage, maintain, and optimize mission-critical Oracle database environments.
  2. This role is responsible for ensuring database availability, performance, security, and recoverability across on-premises and/or cloud-based systems.
  3. You'll work with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team on the shared full stack ownership of a collection of services and/or technology areas and understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services.
  4. Responsible for the design and delivery of the mission critical stack, with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance.
  5. Partner with development teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture.
