Principal Datacenter Electrical Engineer

This role is for a Principal Datacenter Electrical Engineer responsible for developing innovative products and solutions for Microsoft's data center electrical infrastructure, including UPS systems, PDUs, and power management software. The engineer will provide technical leadership, define system requirements, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and reliability.

What you'd actually do

  1. Be a thought leader in the development of innovative solutions for our hardware platforms, setting goals, objectives, and outcomes and ensuring that they are met.
  2. Develop and implement innovative strategies to drive innovation and ideation.
  3. Provide technical leadership for the system engineering team in developing innovative and scalable products for Microsoft's data centers.
  4. Identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to address them.
  5. Define the system requirements, specifications, architectures, and interfaces for the products, ensuring alignment with customer needs, industry standards, and regulatory compliance.

Skills

Required

  • Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience.

Nice to have

  • Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience.
