Principal Deployable Network Communications

This role involves planning, evaluating, and coordinating the installation and reconfiguration of integrated information systems, with a focus on network communications, radio frequency, and SATCOM systems. The engineer will maintain technical expertise, propose solutions for future needs, prepare documentation, monitor system usage, ensure secure information movement, and support hardware/software integration. The position requires a Top Secret clearance and willingness to travel and deploy.

What you'd actually do

  1. Plan, evaluate, and coordinate installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of several integrated and specialized information systems.
  2. Maintain technical expertise in all areas of information systems hardware/software, radio frequency and SATCOM communications systems, and interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  3. May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.
  4. Prepare documentation or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including maintenance documentation and instructions.
  5. Provide regular monitoring and analysis regarding short- and long-range project planning and utilization of proprietary systems.

Skills

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 9 years of related military / professional experience, OR a Bachelor's of Science degree and at least 5 years of related military / professional experience OR a Master's degree and at least 3 years of related military / professional experience OR a Ph.D and at least 1 year of related military / professional experience
  • DoD Top Secret clearance
  • willing to travel up to 25% of the time
  • ability to meet medical requirements and pass a physical for worldwide travel
  • valid U.S. passport
  • ability to obtain and maintain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission
