Principal Emi/emc Engineer (onsite)

Seeking a Principal EMI/EMC Engineer to ensure aerospace electronics meet EMI/EMC requirements and perform reliably. Responsibilities include reviewing customer requirements, analyzing hardware, recommending design solutions, developing test plans, supporting in-house testing, preparing reports, and presenting findings in design reviews.

What you'd actually do

  1. Review customer EMI/EMC requirements and assess compliance or risks
  2. Analyze existing and redesigned hardware for EMI/EMC performance
  3. Work with cross-functional teams to recommend design solutions for compliance
  4. Develop EMI test plans and test procedures that meet customer and industry standards (RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-461)
  5. Support in-house testing at our EMI lab and ensure tests are executed properly

Skills

Required

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC principles, standards, and testing practices

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience with EMI/EMC modeling and 3D EM analysis tools such as Ansys EMC Simulation or CST Studio Suite®
  • Hands-on experience with system-level and circuit-level design
  • Familiarity with ETS-Lindgren TILE! Integrated EMI test environment software
  • Experience in design, risk mitigation, testing, and project management
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including systems and circuit groups
  • Experience presenting EMI-related findings and deliverables at internal and external customer design reviews
  • Clear, concise communication skills, strong attention to detail, and high accuracy
