Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Principal Energetic Engineer to support the Space Launch System Solid Rocket Booster program. The role involves developing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing processes for component refurbishment, assembly, and testing of Thrust Vector Control and Avionics systems. Responsibilities include supporting production support equipment, test operations, avionics acceptance checkout, instrumentation installations, creating process documentation, driving corrective actions for hardware and equipment issues, interpreting drawings, and auditing manufacturing steps.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support electrical and mechanical production support equipment (PSE), assuring readiness via calibration verification and validation testing, and troubleshooting failures as necessary.
  2. Support TVC fuel, hydraulic, and pneumatic acceptance test operations as a team member under the direction of the Test Conductor.
  3. Support Acceptance Check Out of the Avionics systems assuring communication (command-response) for the various control systems, and Integration tests under direction of the Test Conductor.
  4. Support electrical Development and Operational Flight Instrumentation (DFI/OFI) installations and tests.
  5. Create and maintain electronic process planning and test documents.

Skills

Required

  • STEM Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional/relevant experience OR STEM Master’s degree with 3 years of professional/relevant experience OR STEM PhD with 1 year of professional/relevant experience
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) for documentation, data tracking, and collaboration.
