Seeking an Energetic Engineer for Northrop Grumman's Space Sector to work on Thrust Vector Control system processing for NASA's Space Launch System Solid Rocket Booster. Responsibilities include refurbishment, assembly, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of aerospace components. The role requires experience with hydraulic systems and component processing, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.

What you'd actually do

  1. Generate/update electronic planning for both hardware refurbishment, testing and production support equipment maintenance.
  2. Performing component acceptance testing and troubleshooting, when necessary, along with operations team.
  3. Evaluate test data to ensure characteristics fall within established specifications. Maintain records of testing results.
  4. Disposition non-conforming material/components through Material Review Board (MRB) process.
  5. Supporting all phases of refurbishment process which includes disassembly, inspection, cleaning, assembly, and dynamic acceptance tests.

Skills

Required

  • Approved STEM Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional/relevant experience – OR – Approved STEM Master’s degree with 3 years of professional/relevant experience – OR – Approved STEM PhD with 1 year of professional/relevant experience.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems and component processing.
  • Strong communication skills in terms of presentations and writing detailed technical reports.
  • Able to read and interpret component drawings, hydraulic/pneumatic and electrical schematics.
  • Must be able to work overtime/weekends and/or second shift work schedule.
