This Principal Engineer role focuses on applying deep AI and agentic capabilities to production-ready security applications, specifically for malware detection and content abuse identification within the Android ecosystem. The role involves defining "agentic safety" and architecting frameworks to secure AI agents, acting as a senior technical leader for the APAC region.

What you'd actually do

  1. Drive the technical vision, multi-year roadmap, and execution strategy for Google’s transition to autonomous defense, ensuring we can scale our defenses ahead of emerging AI-driven threats.
  2. Define what "agentic safety" means at Google, creating safety guardrails, policy engines, and architectures to secure environments where AI agents interact with each other and connect to MCP servers and various applications.
  3. Apply deep AI and machine learning skills to build production-ready, real-world security applications to automate malware detection and content abuse identification across the Google Play Store and Android ecosystem.
  4. Serve as the technical lead for the APAC region, providing technical guidance, architectural oversight, and coaching to engineers in Singapore and teams in India.
  5. Provide technical oversight and define the daily work for the local Singapore-based engineering team in partnership with their direct people manager.
