Principal Industrial Engineer role focused on optimizing operational processes, program performance, and product flow within an industrial/manufacturing setting using data analytics and digital transformation initiatives. The role involves analyzing lead times, queue times, and throughput, building models for product flow optimization, and developing optimized scheduling tools. Collaboration with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams is required. A Secret clearance is necessary.

What you'd actually do

  1. Utilizes Data Analytics to analyze existing operational processes and develop metrics and reporting to optimize and improve program & operational performance.
  2. Lead efforts as Digital Transformation Champion to align Apopka's goals with the sector and enterprise strategies.
  3. Creates new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance.
  4. Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently.
  5. Builds scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 or more years of industrial engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR master’s degree with 3 or more years of industrial engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience.
  • Experience in designing visualizations in Tableau.
  • Experience with Digital Transformation
  • Experience with time studies and capacity modeling.
  • Experience with Process control methods (SPC/control charts).
  • Experience with Process Capability Analysis (Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk).
  • Experience with Visio or equivalent.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) secret clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required

Nice to have

  • Experience with improving manufacturing workflow using optimization, modeling, or simulation methods.
  • At least 1 year of demonstrated manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing Methods. Experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Experience with SAP S/4 HANA Cloud ERP system.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years of demonstrated experience leading project teams.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, VBA, or other programming languages.
  • Familiarity with mixed-model manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with workstation ergonomics.
  • Experience with agile methods of project management or development.
