Principal Engineer Industrial

This role is for a Principal Industrial Engineer in a semiconductor foundry and packaging environment. The primary responsibilities include developing production schedules, optimizing manufacturing processes using continuous improvement tools and data analytics, and improving product flow from raw materials to delivery. The role involves working with MES and SAP systems, analyzing operational data, and leading digital transformation efforts to align with enterprise strategies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and iterate on detail production build schedules by working closely with Development and Production Operations
  2. Provide support to the manufacturing floor by working proactively with cross-functional teams to understand frontline problems and implement cost-saving solutions.
  3. Utilize various Continuous Improvement tools to analyze shop floor practices and processes for opportunities to minimize waste, reduce cost, increase capacity and optimize schedule.
  4. Work with frontline leadership to assess current state reality and define future state possibilities
  5. Provide tactics and training to frontline leaders and shop floor personnel to improve the current state and facilitate value generation

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; OR a Master of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related STEM field with 3 or more years relevant work experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment and hands-on experience using a production manufacturing execution system (MES)
  • Experience with SAP
  • Data Analytics
  • Continuous Improvement tools
