What you'd actually do

  1. Design and plan layout for assembly and materials handling.
  2. Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  3. Plan sequence of operations and specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  4. Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
  5. Provide guidance for engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field and 8 years of progressive experience, OR Master's degree or equivalent and 5 years of experience
  • 5 years of experience using CATIA V5 for 3D modeling and manufacturing drawings in the aerospace industry
  • 5 years of experience with NC programming for complex aerospace components
  • 5 years of experience applying continuous improvement and process optimization methodologies (Six Sigma Green Belt Certification)
  • 5 years of experience in tool design and development for aerospace manufacturing applications
