Principal Engineer Reliability role focused on improving uptime, reducing failure risk, and optimizing lifecycle performance of critical operational assets, specifically a large capacity natural gas steam plant. Responsibilities include equipment reliability, failure analysis (RCCA, FMEA), maintenance strategy optimization, data analytics, and cross-functional collaboration. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5 years of experience. Experience with steam plants, FMEA, RCCA, and data analytics tools is preferred. A Secret clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Improve availability and performance of critical assets (Machines, boilers, automated systems)
  2. Conduct root cause and corrective action (RCCA) for equipment failures
  3. Develop and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) programs
  4. Analyze maintenance and production data to identify trends and failure patterns
  5. Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations to improve asset performance

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or reliability engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to obtain a DOD security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Nice to have

  • Operational experience with land or sea-based steam plants
  • Experience with FMEA, RCCA, and reliability modeling
  • Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement certification
  • Experience in complex manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
